Meter Governance (MTRG) is the governance token for the Meter network, a decentralized, high-performance blockchain compatible with Ethereum. Meter is designed to be a scalable infrastructure for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and aims to connect various blockchains. MTRG tokens are used for staking by validator nodes to secure the Meter network and participate in its Hybrid Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism. MTRG holders also have the right to participate in the decentralized governance of the Meter network, voting on protocol upgrades, parameters, and development decisions. MTRG works alongside MTR, a stablecoin that serves as the network's unit of account and transaction fee token.
