Celer Network is a Layer-2 scaling platform that focuses on enabling fast, low-cost, and secure off-chain transactions and cross-chain interoperability. Its core technology, the cBridge, allows users to transfer tokens seamlessly across multiple blockchains and Layer-2 scaling solutions, addressing liquidity fragmentation in the multi-chain world. Celer also develops solutions for building decentralized applications (dApps) that can function across different chains, such as cross-chain DeFi and multi-chain NFTs. The native token, CELR, has multiple utilities within the Celer ecosystem. It is used for staking in the Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism of the Celer State Guardian Network (SGN), which helps secure the cBridge and other inter-chain messaging functionalities. CELR stakers earn rewards and contribute to the security and efficiency of cross-chain operations. Additionally, CELR may be used for payment within Celer-powered dApps and governance of the Celer protocol.
