Ycash (YEC) is a cryptocurrency that forked from Zcash, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency utilizing zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs). Ycash maintains the privacy features of Zcash but aims to provide improved accessibility for mining on consumer-grade hardware (specifically CPUs and GPUs) and has a modified governance structure. YEC token is the native currency used for transactions on the Ycash network, including shielded (private) transactions. Miners secure the network through a Proof-of-Work algorithm (Equihash 192,7) designed to be more accessible to individual miners. The token underpins the privacy features and operation of the Ycash blockchain.
