Anchor Protocol (ANC) was a decentralized savings, lending, and borrowing protocol built on the Terra blockchain, offering high yields (around 20%) on UST stablecoin deposits. Its high yield mechanism was a major driver of the Terra ecosystem's growth but proved unsustainable. Following the collapse of the Terra ecosystem and its algorithmic stablecoin UST in May 2022, the Anchor Protocol ceased normal operations, and the value and utility of the ANC token effectively dropped to zero. Historically, ANC was the governance token, used for voting on protocol parameters and receiving a share of protocol revenue. Its current state is non-operational.
